In fall 2025, the Louisville Public Library and Classrooms for Climate Action are gathering students and community members of all ages to join together in deepening our understanding of the impact that racism has on us all by reading The Sum of Us by Heather McGhee.
As a culmination of this One Book, One Town project, we are fundraising to bring the author, Heather McGhee, to Louisville. Heather, an economist, will meet with students and community members to support our understanding of the importance of working together to disrupt the notion that those who have more money are worth more in our democracy and economy. With increased understanding of our history, we can all bring about a more united and equitable future.

Your donation will help
- Bring Heather McGhee to Boulder County in fall 2025
- Support teachers to bring this learning to their students
- Provide facilitators for intergenerational book discussions
- Provide books (YA version) to participating students in grades 5-12
